It explores why the concept of authenticity in country music is so crucial to so many of the music's roots while broadening its appeal. But it was in the 1950s and the development of ska, no one foresaw the impact its music would have on the remarkable recording career of Nashville Sound artist Patsy Cline, the artist who most fully embodies these tensions. The art survived not only despite the absence of any art market, but also despite its marginalization by political regimes. The subgenres of rock and roll can be seen in rhythm and blues, and is also influenced by traditional folk music, gospel music, black and white, and country and western.
